Evaluation of a Month

So much happened this month! I feel like everything I did was new, fresh as the new year. I have learned a lot in a very short amount of time. I took care of the kitty problem, I worked on the comics, I started learning japanese, and I did plenty of IRL things.
 I thought and learned about myself and the poeple around me that matter, stuff I can't exactly put into words, but changed the way I define and hierarchize in my heart and mind my fundamental relationships. It really changed my perspective. It sounds vague but it isn't, I just won't mention names or facts but in short, I have had epiphanies (some good, some less good) about poeple and it triggered a thinking process that revolutionized old certainties.
 Working on the comic, I realized just how hard it was, and I regret I partially worked on it as if I was doing illustration work. The consequence of that is I struggle with the format. Illustration means a square base with rectangular variations but nothing extreme, and comic means lots of thin boxes. I will have to find a trick (probably by drawing decors separately and hoping that nothing will be blurred once I convert all the different formats together.) But in the future I really need to plan the pages beforehand, even if that means less freedom during the sketching phase, which is usually my favourite so I'm afraid sticking to the plan would ruin the experience...
I have started learning japanese! It takes me a lot of time, so as you may have guessed, I draw much less since I started learning. I can see the result though. I can write and read 14 characters already, respectively 7 hiragana and their katakana counterpart, if that means anything to you. I'd much rather learn them in the same time than first learn all the hiragana and then all the katakana. It's amazing how things start making sense slowly as you go, sometimes you grasp the logic of something before it is expained and it feels so rewarding!
I entered the magical world of the Lord of the Rings. It's interesting and I'm glad I get to discover a part of my friend's universe (the same friend that learns japanese too and draws with me.) and I watch lots of movies these days. All kinds of movies, really: drama, investigation, comedy, fantasy, musical, animation, blockbusters, conceptual, documentary...  I'm building myself a stronger film culture.
In the end, when it comes to evaluating it, was is a good month or not? I couldn't tell. But it was definitely busy, unexpected and life-changing. Not so long ago I told you 2015 would be different, I can see I was right about that, I just didn't know how much.
