Sei Niemals Wie Er by BlumeShullman Sei Niemals Wie Er by BlumeShullman
Title in German, means: 'Never be like him.'
This is going to be long, are you ready?

OK, so...

At first when I had the inspiration to draw this, it clearly was a drawing of Ludwig. For the little story, picture this: the whole Beilschmidt family is in the car, Gilbert is a teenager and has an argument with the parents about his lifestyle and friends. It just gets worse and worse and when the car stops before a red light, Gilbert jumps out of the car. The car moves off, it's like nothing happened for a moment. Nobody says a word. But after some time His mother says to Ludwig, with a voice trembling with anger: 'Never be like him! Promise me you'll never be like him!' And this sentence will enter Ludwig's brain and never go away, because for the first time he experiences a deep inner conflict. On one side, he looks at the night and the cold rain, he knows that Gilbert is outside and far from home, but the other part of him thinks he deserved it and he says: ' Yes, I promise.'

But I knew I felt all of it much too deep to make a fanfic out of it, and I had other ideas, numerous other ideas forming around that, and the more I was thinking of it, the less relevant it was to imagine Ludwig in the place of the little brother. It just didn't have anything to do with hetalia anymore, it was too real, deep and personal, too dark, and funny in a completely new way, I was holding in my mind the heart of a new story. Little but beating super hard and fast. I knew it would be huge. And it is. It was a year ago. I needed to think about it deeply and on my own before I could introduce this original story to you. And now really this character isn't the most important or fascinating of the story. I will soon introduce them all to you, the poeple of the island of Saint Harold.

I like how you used darker shadings around the whole piece. It really complements the mood you are trying to get across. Despite the background being in slightly less detail than the focal point, it also adds to the mood you want to convey. That little comment on the background is pretty minor considering that it made me look more to Ludwig than at the back ground. Ludwig's face is pure perfection in this piece you can see the conflicted emotions in his eyes. Everything from the shape of his face to art style you used is perfect for what you were trying to get across. I think it's absolutely wonderful! Amazing job!

He reminds me young DiCaprio, especially eyes. It might be real. Or just my imagination b/c I love them both.
Thank you for sharing Heart +fav

Young DiCaprio would have made a decent Germany, and his acting skills would have allowed him to give him the depth Germany deserves. It's too late now, but it's an interesting idea.

You really did it! And I'm kinda glad to see, that your story developed a dynamic on its own. I adore your semi-realistic version of Lu, with his gaze lost in the layers of rain outside the car. Keep it on, honey!

yeah it's not exactly the best day of his life^^ but well, I like this kind of moments when the characters are put in front of a choice and it will define them afterwards, love the angst XD

Je me demande pourquoi les choses tristes faites-nous sentir heureux, comme observant la pluie... :iconsighingplz:

parce que l'empathie fait du bien et on n'en ressent pas face aux choses heureuses qui engendrent la jalousie?
